About

We're Real Purpose, a small but dedicated social enterprise based in Leicestershire, founded on a powerful combination of years of professional expertise in employment support and lived mental health experience.

Many of us on the team have felt the weight of mental ill health. We've also experienced firsthand how finding meaningful work can be transformative - not just financially, but for our wellbeing and recovery too. This shared understanding drove us to create Real Purpose in late 2023.

​

Our expertise comes from years in supported employment and skills development, but our approach is deeply human. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to find purpose through work, learning, or volunteering - especially those facing mental health challenges or other disadvantages.

We started by addressing a critical gap in our home county. Throughout 2024, we delivered the Leicestershire Employment and Skills programme for people accessing or at risk of needing mental health support through NHS primary care.

​

Currently, we're leading the Bell Foundry Enterprise, Employment and Volunteering (B.E.E.V) Project - a 12-month initiative funded by People Zones that connects local residents with opportunities.

​

This is just the beginning. While we're focused on securing continued funding for our Leicestershire programme, we're continuously looking for innovative approaches to employment support. We're building meaningful partnerships with individuals, employers, and community stakeholders, while also developing specialised training for employers to create sustainable pathways that help people with various disadvantages find and sustain fulfilling work.
